algae in new pond

Hi we recently remade an old ond it is quite big about 10meter by 5m. We relined it in a sunny spot with some shade from trees bought some fish and also two lilys and a leafy plany now th epond is consumed with algae we havea pond fillter and the water flows down a plastic water fall which is also full of algae. We would like to tackle this pond naturally should we wait it out, get a couple of snails or pond weed?
