Green water

I have one of those small pond inserts(plastic preformed) This is the 1st year the water just stays Green it is on the side wall of my pond. I put a tablet in the pond for clear water but this year it is not working this year , I do has fish in the pond. Thank you in advance for your help.

Doug says that he really recommends you read the articles here on algae control. Rather than me repeating all the advice about fish, feeding, chemicals, necessary plants, fish densities etc.

You've messed up the ecology. That's why your water is staying green.

The remedy to green water is to understand the system and to figure out what you're doing wrong (small ponds are very hard to keep clean without adequate plant loads) Fish make the situation worse so check out those pages as well.

Good luck. I just don't have enough information to tell you whether the problem is with plants, pumps, fish or combinations of the above.
