I have a 7 ft wire fence around the back area that the pond is in as we rescue cats, so the cats are safe and no racoons can get in, but the cats will mess with the frogs!

Hi Sheryl, Love your pond. I'm in the process of building one myself. Am curious, how do you keep the racoons away or do you not have racoons in your area? Here they are a pest and will eat the fish in your pond.

Hi Sharyl, thanks! and yes, when this garden was there, we left the fish out in the Ohio winters, you do need to keep a pump going for aeration and so the pond does not completely freeze over. the fish go dormant and lived for several yrs.
